The official launch ceremony of the EMIMEO Erasmus Mundus Master took place on Thursday 11 April 2019 at XLIM. This ceremony was an opportunity to meet the project partners and discuss the implementation of this first Erasmus Mundus Master, in coordination with the University of Limoges.

EMIMEO: Erasmus Master on Innovative Microwave Electronics and Optics

In a context where the Universities are resolutely turned towards the international, the University of Limoges, inscribed in this dynamics for several years, thanks to the teaching teams of the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques, obtained a European financing for the creation of an Erasmus Mundus Master's degree in electronics and optics.

Note that this project, carried by the University of Limoges, was ranked 4th among 110 applications, and 42 selected.

This EMIMEO Master aims to create an innovative, high-level and attractive technological training for international students (European or otherwise) with strong scientific and technical potential. Built from the existing Ixeo Master, backed by the XLIM laboratory, EMIMEO will be taught in English and organized with 3 partner Universities:

• University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain - Specialization Instrumentation and Microwave Devices,
• University of Brescia, Italy - Specialization Optical Devices,
• Aston University, England - Specialization Digital Systems.

As a graduate of the EMIMEO Master, students will have in-depth knowledge of the general principles of microwave electronics and photonics.
