World’s first polychrome organic solar module

DisaSolar, French SME, specialist in custom made solar modules, has successfully demonstrated the world’s first polychrome photovoltaic module. This is the result of a 3 year program funded by the DGA (Directorate General of Armaments) in collaboration with OptoPlast group from XLIM- MINACOM and CEA-INES. By tailoring the electrical properties, shape and color of the organic solar panel, it will be possible to better fulfill customer requirements in terms of product specification and integration. Nowadays only inkjet printing technology offers the flexibility to enable the device realization. XLIM contributed to this project by material qualification of the photoactive inks involved in the three different colored solar cells and by modeling the design enabling simultaneous device operation of the different solar cells.
